Mediterranean Flavors and Flair at the Marlton Hotel’s New Restaurant Margaux

At his birthday dinner last Saturday night, Olivier Theyskens wanted neither birthday cake nor candles. The Theory designer in fact deigned to blow out a Bic lighter only when his friends—a group that included Sky Ferreira, Robert Burke, Diana Widmaier Picasso, and Leigh Lezark—belted out a rendition of “Happy Birthday” that all but demanded a fire-extinguishing finale. As it turned out, it was felicitous that Theyskens didn’t care for cake that night since the Mediterranean menu of Margaux, the newly opened restaurant at the Marlton Hotel on Manhattan’s West Eighth Street, offers none on their menu anyway.
